Pop Culture Pyramid #1
A Beginner's Guide To Fantasy / Sword & Sorcery
By: Mickael
Sword and Sorcery is defined by Wikipedia as a "subgenre of fantasy generally characterized by sword-wielding heroes engaged in exciting and violent conflicts. An element of romance is often present, as is an element of magic and the supernatural. Unlike works of high fantasy, the tales, though dramatic, focus mainly on personal battles rather than world-endangering matters."

This is a fine description, but what happens when you feel that you've "seen it all"? After you've watched Conan destroy, learned all about the seventh son of the seventh son, pulled Excalibur out of the stone, and been crowned the Scorpion King? Once Game Of Thrones is off for the Summer, Fall, and most of Winter, you need something to watch! Well, that's where my Pop Culture Pyramid comes in.
The purpose of the Pop Culture Pyramid is to show you that if you love the films in the "POP!" category, there is still plenty more to watch if you're willing to go down the rabbit hole. Not every film is a winner, but you just may find your fantasy fix with this easy guide showing the layers of the Sword and Sorcery subgenre:
